Pork Belly Inspiration

Having had a wonderful pork belly in Perth, my hubby couldn't wait to replicate it at home. I also would love to try the spices that I bought in Freemantle, so that goes into the chicken.

My hubby specially ask to have a thick pork belly in order to get the best results. We fry and thereafter grill the pork belly so as to get the skin to be as crispy as we can.

Coffee cupcake

Having seen so many cupcakes and been to so many cupcake blog, I have all along wanted to give it a try. However, I also do understand that fondant, decorations are tough, with investments in tools, etc. By chance of luck, Su Yin just uploaded another of her creation - coffee cupcake, the frosting recipe looks easy to make, so I decided to give it a try.
Hopefully, my girls' teachers will like them cos I intend to bring them to school for teachers' day.

The frosting did not come out as firm as I wanted. Hopefully, it will still look good tomorrow. Nonetheless, I finally tried!

Craving!!!

Have not been blogging for a week cos was out of town in Perth. After 1 over week of eating western delights, my family, hubby especially, is having chinese cuisine craving. So definitely no chance for me to try out the spices that I bought from Freemantle, instead, tonite is my hubby's chance to kill his craving for chinese food haha.

His favourite - Braised Pork

Braised Pork with egg and toufu

And added in intestines as well...

This is to satisfy my girl's craving for chicken rice every meal that we asked her what she wanted to eat in perth and her answer - chicken rice. So here goes, one full pot of chicken and mushrooms..

Mad about Lavender

Am mad about lavender after trying the lavender scones at Cape Lavender in Margaret River. Decided to give it a go to try and replicate the scones which I had then. Turned out not bad, only thing probably next time, gotta try to make it thicker so that it looks nicer and of course, gotta be equipped with whipped cream and jam to look more professional!

Milo anyone?

It is such a coincidence that my mum passed me the jelly mould and milo as I have been wanting to try out the milo jelly recipe as my girls love milo.
It was very easy to make and was glad of the results. However, I should not have topped the jelly with milo powder.. it was only after I had done so did I realise tha I will turn over the jelly mould, hence the milo dissolve with the water. That's why you can see the milo at the bottom of the jelly.
