My First Tiramisu Attempt

As tomorrow shall be Chye Ling's birthday, instead of the mousse cake that I have yet to master, I had decided to try tiramisu instead. So here goes... my first Tiramisu attempt.

It did not turn out as well as I wanted it to be, also because am too greedy, so put too much Kalua and the taste of the liquor is pretty strong. Nonetheless, I received praise from my hubby that it is not bad. So not so bad for first try.. shall do better next time!

Cupcake Weekend!!! Jul 28, 07

Having seen so many cupcakes in the blog that I had visited, I decided to go for all cupcakes today. So here goes, first trying the oreo cupcake that I read about in my fav Aunty Yochana's blog. I have a go with this Oreo cupcake recipe by making a slight tweak to my usual cupcake recipe. Well, it turns out to be not bad.. think can make it for my first try! It came out with a nice dome shape peak.


Next, my banana chocolate chip muffin. Having received feedback that the cupcake is slightly sweet, I had decided to reduce the sugar a bit.




And finally, my raisins cupcake.

This weekend, I perfected the banana walnut cake. Also, using the banana walnut cake recipe, I did some tweak and added chocolate chip instead.. decided to make cup cake instead of the whole cake. The result turns out to be quite good and I like the softness in the cake.

We had some fun with this weekend's baking session. My friend's daughter joined us today in making the cookies together. I shared with the children the process of sieving the flour, mixing the batter, adding the egg and finally mixing the dough. Surprisingly, all are very co-operative. They finally had fun in putting the m&m's chocoloates onto the cookies. It was fun having kids together making cookies.

Only managed to take photos of the process of us making cookies as my older daughter complained of tummyache during the session, so did not manage to take more photos. Nonetheless, there is going to be next time!!

Weekend is Here! - Jul 14, 07

Looking so forward to weekend.. so that I can bake yet again!! I had planned to try out my ricotta pancakes again, since last week it didnt turn out as well as I hope..

This time round, I thought it taste better, however, my bro felt that it seemed a little uncooked in the center.. Well, I thought it's cos of the rocotta, nonetheless, will try again next week I guess.

We had many activites planned today with our girls - build sandcastles at east coast, house visiting at grandma's and also over at a friend's. By the time we are back home, its pretty late, luckily the girls slept so whilst they were sleeping, I managed to find time to bake a banana walnut cake and also prepared the ingredients for chocoloate muffin so that my girl can bake with me when she is up. So here goes, my first go at banana walnut cake.



Quite a success I would say, it turn out to be soft. A bit greedy on the walnuts though, gotta go easy on them.

I made these for weekend. My favourite blueberry cupcakes.













Also, tried making the chocolate chip cupcakes per my girl's request. We had fun together, with her helping me in sieving the flour and pouring the chocolate chips for me.
